Its the weekend! Thank God we’ve made it.
With the weekend comes much pressure to plan the perfect day/night out. In Liberia, it can sometimes feel like a lost cause trying to keep up with all the sometimes secret things happening in and around the nation’s capitol.
Luckily though, we searched around for you and came up with the perfect weekend plans for all those still undecided on where to go. We hope you’ve kept up with our Nightlife guide/holiday event schedule, but if not, the below weekend guide should help you!
Monrovia African Pop-up Shop

The Monrovia African Pop-up shop is the place to be today (Saturday Dec. 15). It is one of the only locations in the city, besides down waterside, where attendees can shop through locally made products, majority of which are Liberian-owned. The pop-up shop is the perfect holiday gift shop to enable you give gifts that will be loved and cherished this holiday season, while at the same time supporting small businesses. Its a true win win! Visit the Pop-up Shop happening at the Palm Springs Hotel in Paynesville City from 12PM-6PM.
The West African Dining Experience

When you’ve tired out from all the shopping at the Monrovia African Pop-up Shop, hopefully bought gifts for all those on your list, there is a carefully crafted dining experience awaiting you on another side of town. The West African Dining Experience, for the price of USD100.00 per ticket, is offering a 5-course West African-inspired evening of fine dining, specialty cocktails, live music, and so many other mouth-watering delights.
The event is a bit different form the usual date night experiences offered in Monrovia, and its ticket price offers for a possibly more exclusive experience. Call or text the Whatsapp number provided on the flyer to RSVP for you and your date to experience a holiday evening full of wonders and delights.
Golfing at Firestone Golf Course

The Firestone rubber plantation in Harbel, Margibi County, has its own incredible golf course in the same area. This activity is more of a Saturday morning/evening activity, but for those of you who are in search of a fun Sunday activity, it makes for a perfect workout. The Firestone course is probably one of the best in the West African region in terms of beauty, difficulty, and training from on-site pros. They provide all the materials you need on-site, so simply bring yourself/group in your workout gear, and get ready to take your best swing!
Floyd Nation Takeover

Liberian musicians are all about hanging out with their fans in local entertainment pubs around the city. This Sunday at the Pearl River bar on the 72nd boulevard is your chance to enjoy performances from, and mingle with some of Floyd Nation’s most popping stars for just LD250.00 for general admission, and USD5.00 for VIP admission. It’ll be an incredible and saucy end to your day.
Miscellaneous Fun
Found something to do yet? Or are these options not quite filling your cup? Whichever the case, there are other ways to enjoy your weekend in Monrovia. For starters, weekends are great for beach days, so gather your group, and take a spontaneous road trip to one of These locations outside Monrovia. If the water also isn’t calling your name, you can always stay home, invite over some friends, and enjoy right from the comfort of your own home. Otherwise, Musu’s Spot in Congo Town, and Green Oceans in Duport Road are great hangout spots on Sunday nights to meet the cool kids of the city, and enjoy some live-action Liberian social life.
We hope this has been a helpful weekend guide. We’ll see you next weekend for our next Weekend Update 😉
