Ahhh.. July.
Although only just starting, its proving to be a month of chill, excitement and patriotism. With only the first week down, we have seen Liberians kill it Koloqua style for the American Independence, slay on the runway at the Essence Festival, and just enjoy their hot girl/boy Summertime jolly jolly.
Last week in Liberian fashion, two Liberian designers made an appearance at the Essence 25th anniversary Festival. Designer brand, J. Wonyen graced the runway with her exquisite silhouettes, while Wax Wonder, AKA, Afropolitan Monrovia, took to the selling booths. The fashion-clad event was graced by other Liberian excellence; including Barkue Tubman, Miatta and Massa Johnson, Former president Ellen John-Sirleaf, CEO of Essence Ventures, Richelieu Dennis, among others. Overall though, the entire event weekend was made even more special after being graced by exceptionally detailed Koloqua style moments that signified their roots and cultural heritage.
Liberians keep making news and waves around the world of fashion, and we are absolutely here for it. The first week of July went quickly, but here are the top fashion moments that stayed with us.
